We’ve got one of our own on The Voice Australia! Her name is Emma Louise Birdsall and she did an absolutely stellar performance during her audition. She had Seal the moment she stepped onto the stage. He quickly pressed his button, got off his chair and started dancing to her rendition of the song “Mercy” by Duffy.

She will be sadly missed during this time where she out conquering the world, but we wish her all the best during this amazing season of her life!

A few reasons to hire a professional band?

Have you ever thought, “Surely my friends band down the street could play at this event” and you may be right. But in most cases, the Garage Band that has been practicing for their first debut on stage has not had the experience that a professional live working band can offer. Are you sure they will know what to wear to the event? Have they got their own P.A. system to cater for over 100 guests or are they just going to run it all through their guitar amps and play loudly without concern for the guests? Do they have back up plans if/when musicians need to be booked because of last minute changes? Have they communicated with you what time they will be arriving?

If you are able to hire a professional band, then all those worries are taken care of for you and you can leave confident knowing that the ‘music’ aspect of your event has been sorted. Don’t risk being the inside joke on monday because you took a gamble on a band which you thought could do the job. Knowing how to play stairway to heaven or nothing else matters by Metallica doesn’t mean that they will be able to cater for a dinner and dance set at a corporate event.

There are many more reasons to why you should hire a professional band but here are a few thoughts to leave you with the next time you consider the ‘Garage Band’ next door.
